We arrived in Juneau at around 1::00 in the afternoon on June 11th. Like for most of our trip, the temperature was around 60° when we arrived. we had eleven hours in Juneau, much of it was used on the Whale Watching & Wildlife Tour.
Juneau is the Capital city of Alaska but has a population of less than 35,000 people. Another interesting fact we discovered when we visited is that Juneau is rather unusual among U.S. capital cities in that there are no roads connecting the city to the rest of Alaska or to the rest of North America (although ferry service is available for cars). The absence of a road network is due to the extremely rugged terrain surrounding the city.
